Slaney Veterinary Centre

About Us

At our practice, we are committed to delivering gold-standard veterinary care in a warm, welcoming, and professional environment. We understand that animals are valued members of the family and livelihood alike, and our experienced team is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised care for both large and small animals.
We offer a comprehensive range of veterinary services for companion animals and farm animals, including in-house diagnostics, medical consultations, soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, ultrasound, digital radiography, and dental care. Whether caring for family pets or supporting the health and welfare of livestock, our focus is always on delivering the highest standard of veterinary medicine with a practical and caring approach.
To support this exceptional standard of care, we continuously invest in advanced veterinary equipment and modern systems. Our facilities include fully computerised patient records, state-of-the-art digital X-ray imaging, ultrasonography, in-house blood analysis for rapid same-day results, microscopy, and a dedicated surgical suite. These technologies allow us to diagnose and treat patients quickly, accurately, and efficiently.

Equally important is our commitment to ongoing staff training and professional development. By regularly attending veterinary conferences, workshops, and industry events, our team stays at the forefront of modern veterinary medicine, bringing the latest knowledge and techniques back to our practice for the benefit of our patients and clients.

Facilities

Our foremost objective is to ensure that your pet’s visit is as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. We strongly believe that even the smallest details can have a significant impact on your pet’s experience, and we’ve invested significant thought into implementing these details throughout our clinic.
Simple readily apparent examples of this are the individual separate designated waiting rooms and kennels for our cats and dogs in order to help minimise stress. Other additions such as toy boxes for our dog waiting room, rubber mats for our elderly mobility compromised and raised cat box areas in our cat waiting room alongside some less obvious but standard features of calming pet diffusers, unlimited treats in each room and calming classical music in all kennel areas are just some of the features we use to try ensure your pets stay is as an enjoyable experience as possible for them.
We use best practice approaches in line with the International Cat Care recommendations in our cat kennels. Features such as gold-standard day and overnight cat kennels are designed to minimise stress during feline stays. Our cat accommodation incorporates thoughtful design elements, including soft-closing and fully transparent doors, which help reduce sudden loud noises and create a calm, comfortable environment for our feline guests.
Our philosophy is that doing things right is just as easy as not doing them, and we are continually committed to enhancing our patients’ experience with us.

Your Pets Will Be Extremely Happy With Us

Vaccination

Vaccinations help protect our pets from numerous nasty and often fatal diseases. Vaccination can often be started from 6-8 weeks of age and will require 2 initial vaccines. These are then followed up by a booster vaccination.

Neutering

Neutering your animal is a relatively straightforward operation which removes the reproductive organs making it impossible for them to reproduce. If you do not intend to breed, neutering is the smart, responsible and caring choice.

Micro Chipping

Microchipping is now recognised as the most effective and secure way of permanently identifying a pet. A unique identification number is registered to the animal and the owner’s details are placed on a national database.

Vet consultations are important for your pet to maintain optimal health. Together, you and your vet can provide your pet with the best care for a long, healthy life. We have listed our opening hours below for your convenience.
