John Sands
Veterinary Surgeon
John qualified as a veterinary surgeon from UCD in 2005. Originally from a dairy farm in Rathfriland, Co. Down, he has recently developed a small family herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. He worked in predominantly cattle and sheep practice in Co. Tyrone, and Co. Down for almost 7 years, before moving to a more small animal focused role in Downpatrick, Co.Down where he worked for over 4 years. There he developed a keen interest in orthopaedic surgery, and specialised in the TTA method of cruciate repair surgery. He is married to Michelle, and has 3 daughters. When he gets a chance his hobbies include farming and running.

Peter Griffin
Veterinary Surgeon
Peter qualified as a veterinary surgeon from UCD in 1963. Originally from North Co. Dublin, he has dedicated his entire veterinary career to the area of Baltinglass. He established his own veterinary practice in 1995, which has grown from originally a 1 man practice, to now employing 6 members of staff. An excellent surgeon, his vast knowledge on all aspects of veterinary medicine is immeasurable. His interest and love of the job is still unwavering, and he is passionate about always helping clients to maximise their animals’ health. Married to Mary, he has one son and 2 grandchildren. In his spare time, he is kept busy with his herd of Simmental cows. He also breeds thoroughbred horses. He has a gorgeous English Setter called Tip.

Michelle Frayne
Veterinary Surgeon
Michelle qualified as a veterinary surgeon from UCD in 2007. Following this she worked in a busy large animal practice in Co. Donegal, before moving to a mixed practice in Co. Down. In 2010 she moved into a more small- animal focused role. She has a keen interest in medicine, and has recently attained a certificate in small animal medicine from the ESVPS (European School of Veterinary Post Grad Studies).
She has 2 golden cocker spaniels Sandy and Ellie, and has recently been adopted by a cheeky tortoiseshell cat.

Bernie Molloy
Bernie has worked with Peter in Baltinglass for 19 years now, and runs all aspects of the clinic alongside Karen and Maureen. She is married to dry stock farmer, and baling contractor Robert. She has 2 sons, and 3 grandchildren. She is an avid GAA supporter, and has a hyper 3 year- old Boxer called Rocky.

Karen Doyle
Karen has worked in Baltinglass since 2012. Married to Willie, she grew up on the family dairy farm. When she is not helping run the show in the clinic, she can be found pulling pints in their pub at home. She has a loveable black Labrador called Jack.

Maureen
Maureen has worked with Peter for over 29 years! When not out on farms recording TB tests she can be found in the office\shop on Saturdays. From a farming background originally, she took over the family farm, where she now breeds purebred Charolais cattle, and also keeps sheep. Married to Vincent, she has 1 son and 2 dogs, Messi and Shep.
